Dropped My MP3 Player In Water?

I just dropped my mp3 player in water and i was wondering if i just dry out the battery will it work again? And should i keep trying to turn it on today or should i wait a couple of days to turn it back on and see if it works?

DO NOT TURN IT ON.
Put it near a fan or near air flow so the water on the battery will dry and it won’t get fried.
The only issue you could possibly have would be all the water coming to the screen, it takes a while for that to go away. And you would only have to wait a full 24 hour day. Not like a week.
